I was reading Catherine J. Allen's excellent collection of Andean stories and folktales gathered over more than 35 years of field visits to the village or rather ayllu (a unit that demarcates households who belong to the same piece or parcel of land. Ayllus vary widely in size) of Sonqo. The writing is beautiful and immersive like a great travelogue - unfortunately not enough ethnographies make for such pleasant and easy reading. Anyhow I learnt some very interesting things which I screenshotted.
